Postal Circles

India is divided into 23 Postal Circles, each headed by a Chief Postmaster General (CPMG). Each Circle is responsible for the postal operations within its jurisdiction, ensuring efficient delivery of mail and services to all citizens.

Regions and Divisions

Each Postal Circle is further divided into Regions, headed by a Postmaster General (PMG). Regions are subdivided into Divisions, managed by a Superintendent or Senior Superintendent of Post Offices. This hierarchical structure ensures smooth operations across the country's vast postal network.

Circle Level

Each Circle handles administration, operations, and coordination of postal services within the state or union territory. Major circles include Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Karnataka, Maharashtra, etc.

Regional Level

Regions are intermediate administrative units that oversee multiple divisions. They ensure standardization of processes and provide operational support to divisions.

Division Level

Divisions are the primary operational units responsible for day-to-day postal services, including mail delivery, savings bank, insurance, and retail services at the grassroots level.
